We are both very excited and Julie is doing very well. This was our second visit to the OB and everything is going perfectly. During the ultrasound the baby had a very strong heart beat and was swimming the backstroke. I knew he was going to be athletic. By the way, we're not sure yet if Baby X is a boy or a girl. This will be more evident at the next ultrasound in 8 weeks. Hugs and kisses to the grandma's from Baby X. More updates to follow....

Everyone say hello to C.J. (Colleen Julia). Thanks to Linda ( the Ultrasound Specialist) both of the Grandmas met little C.J. today. We don't see a stem on the apple, so she must be a girl. It was a wonderful day. The grandmas saw the beating heart, and moving the arms and legs. C.J. was moving her mouth and had her hands very close to her mouth. She's practicing to eat Paul's home cookin'. After this everyone had a good cry. Julie cried, Grandmas both cried, even the Ultrasound Specialist cried. While this was going on I was starting plans in my mind to fortify the house so that C.J. won't see any boys until she's 32. OK fine, here's the pictures....

The baby and the belly just keep getting bigger. We went for our 20 week ultrasound today and everything seems to be going well. C. J. still looks like a girl and that should be definite now. Julie heard the baby's heart beating and then a big thud as C.J. kicked the listening device. This seems to be an early indication that this is one little girl that likes her privacy. She doesn't want her mom listening to her conversations. Very independent and very private. I wander who that sounds like? We got great pictures today. From here on out I'm not sure how great the pictures will be. I think that C.J. is about to outgrow the ultrasound machine. I guess we'll see. O.K. here's the picture! We'll make this a big picture.

Julie and Colleen are both doing very well. Colleen is very hungry and Julie can barely keep up with her appetite. Everyone here at the Spellman household is starting to get more and more excited. Colleen now has a bedroom of her own. Julie and I fought with the wallpaper border in the bedroom, but have finally managed to get it to stay up on the walls. C.J. has furniture, stuffed animals, pictures of her mom and dad, and supplies to keep her happy and healthy. All of that in her own bedroom. When I get a chance I'm going to try and take some pictures of the baby room and post them here. Stay tuned for further updates.
