Construction Page

In preparation for our move home we are building a new house.  It will be built in Burlington, KY in Arlinghaus Builder's Hanover Park Subdivision.
The HP in the above map marks the location of our new subdivision.

These are photos of the entrance to the subdivision.

We plan to move into our new home sometime in June.  Click on the images below to see images of our blueprints.

Weather is becoming a real issue effecting whether our house gets completed on time.  Here's a link to current conditions and radar.

We have a second story!  Hopefully we'll have a roof soon.

**April 17th, 2002**
Things are really starting to take shape now.  The roof is on, all of the rooms are framed and all of the windows have arrived.  Next we'll see shingles and brick.

We're ready for brick and most of the drywall work is done.

**May 12, 2002**

The brick is almost done and the inside is completely drywalled.

**Update May 16th, 2002**
We were home for a few days and got to see the work progressing first hand.  It's all very exciting to see.  The drywall work will be complete by the end of the week and they expect painters in next week.  They have also finished all of the brick on the outside and are working on the outside trim work.  Everyone says that we are on schedule to be complete in mid June.

**May 23, 2002**
These are the most current photos.  The driveway and front porch are there and we're getting hardwood floors and tile work around the fireplace and in the bathroom.

**Update May 29th, 2002**
We now know that our closing date is June 21st.  Things are progressing very well.  The interior has been painted, all of the cabinets and doors have arrived, the tile in the master bathroom is complete, and they're sanding the hardwood in preparation for staining.

**June 1,2002*

We're making progress inside and out.  We should start seeing finishing work anytime now.

**June 4, 2002**

The fireplace and deck are done.  The cabinets and countertops have all been installed. And all of the doors are hung.  They also have shingled our front porch.  All that we need on the outside is shingles.  Inside we have been informed that the electrician and plumber will be doing finishing work next week.

**June 14th, 2002**
Things are continuing to happen.  We are down to just one week until closing and there is just some finishing work left to be done.  The  outside siding must go on and there's a little bit of touch-up work.  These are some of the most recent photos.

**June17th, 2002**
We've entered the final week of construction.  We close on the house this Friday.  Everything appears to be on track for our closing.  Here's a few new photos.  They have most of the siding done and we're down to the final touch-up work and sealing the hardwood floors.

**June 18th, 2002**
Just three more days until we move in.  They have seeded our yard and the siding is done.  The painters were finishing their last bit of touch-up work this evening.
